The following sections report to D.I.R.:

1. Industrial Relations Section:

Public Relations, today is a complex profession, practiced by thousands of people around the world. Some Public Relations professionals are employed by a single organization and others work for Public Relations firms that have many organizations as clients. Many Public Relations people work entirely within their own country; others practice their profession on a global basis.

Public Relations means the eyes and ears of the Organization.
Public Relations Directorate of Punjab State Electricity Board is playing very significant role in building up a positive image of the Organization under the leadership of Chief /IR & W, Mr.R.P.Pandove having its headquarters at Patiala .The deptt. has a personnel strength as below;

The main objective of the Public Relations department is to built up the Positive Image of the PSEB. By way of one of the tools of the Public Relations , the Directorate is regularly issuing Press Notes regarding the various development and customer oriented polices for the welfare of the various consumers of the state and ensuring their publication /telecast in Print and Electronic Media. The Directorate is also releasing classified and display advertisement to various newspapers. On various occasions Press Conferences/ Interviews are being organized by this Directorate. The Directorate is sending daily press clippings to the Chairman early in the morning in regard with the PSEB and Power sector whether in favour or against the PSEB. The main objective of this exercise is to find out the solutions of the problems of the consumers. and further improvement in the working of the PSEB. The Directorate also undertakes the Press and Publicity arrangement relating to the celebrations of Republic Day, Independence Day, Formations Day, Foundation/Inauguration celebrations of various sub stations and sports tournaments etc.

2. Welfare Section:

To conduct of meeting with the important Unions/Association/ Federations of the Board, Issue Minutes of the meetings and keep a regular follow up of the demands till their finality. This section is headed by Superintendent.

3. Pension & Mobile Pension Section :

Completion of all papers of Non-gazetted retires. Monitoring of future retires and to follow till all the dues of the retires are cleared. Two Under Secretaries, one Superintendent alongwith other allied staff are posted in these sections.

4. DIR is also holding the additional charge of Director/Public Relations since January,1996. this wing is responsible for issuing all Press Notes, holing press Conferences of Chairman/Members of the Board, arrange T.V.Talks of Board authorities, Publicity in the paper, Electronic Media and to maintain cordial relations with the Press. To issues Tender Notices and Display Advertisement for all the Board offices. The following is the strength of the Section:

1. Public Relations Officers(temporarily Hqr. shifted to GGSSTP, Ropar)

2. Five Information Officers posted at Bathinda, Jalandhar, Chandigarh,

Patiala and one I.O. is functioning as OSD to C M, Punjab on deputation.

3. One Exhibition Officer.
